2025 marks a major milestone for us at Modelu: we’re celebrating our 10th anniversary! If you’re new to Modelu, here’s the story so far…
What began as Modelu Miniatures - a pioneering brand dedicated to creating highly detailed 3D printed figures for model railways - has steadily evolved into something even bigger. We’re thrilled to introduce the next chapter in our journey - sharing the precision and detail we’re known for with an even wider audience: Modelu Studio.
The launch of Modelu Studio brings our 3D scanning and full-colour 3D printing expertise to a whole new audience. From lifelike 3D printed portraits and bespoke wedding cake toppers to unique keepsakes of your loved ones or pets, we’re here to capture life’s big moments - in miniature.
What We Do
We create custom 3D printed portraits using state-of-the-art scanning and high-resolution colour printing. Our studio features a 105-camera photogrammetry rig that captures your pose in an instant - preserving every detail from facial expression and posture to clothing and gesture. The scan itself takes just a few seconds, and your finished figurine will be delivered within a few weeks. Our miniatures are perfect for:
- Weddings: personalised cake toppers and party favours
- Families: capture the personality of your loved ones
- Pregnancy & Baby: commemorate your journey to motherhood
- Pets: celebrate the character of your furry companion
- Milestones & Achievements: from graduations to hobbies and beyond
We’re also very open to bespoke requests. We welcome new and imaginative concepts – the more creative the better!
A New Home in Chipping Sodbury
2025 also marks another milestone for us: we’ve recently moved into a brand-new headquarters in the heart of Chipping Sodbury, a picturesque market town just outside of Bristol. Our new premises are purpose-built for all things 3D scanning and printing, featuring:
- A bright and welcoming studio for full-body scanning with a dedicated consultation area for visitors
- A fully equipped production workshop - where every custom model comes to life
- Office and creative space for the team behind the scenes
